Fencing is an individual and asymmetrical sport since the movement is mainly carried out by the dominant part of the body, that is the one that holds the foil, the saber, or the sword. Furthermore, it is a sport in which physical prowess and athleticism are not the two fundamental keys to victory, as fencing is above all an effort of the mind.<\/p>

On the piste, fencers learn the ART of channeling instincts, thus controlling the movements of the body quickly and precisely. CREATIVITY and imagination are aspects that can set apart a mediocre athlete from a champion, and this is one of the most fascinating aspects of this sport. Consistency, PERSEVERANCE, and ability to adapt and respond based on the behavior and tactics of one’s opponent, are essential to bringing home victory, as well as strategy, tactics, and self-control: all qualities that can make a difference even in the working field. Thanks to fencing, team members (members of a group, employees of a company) will increase the respect for their body, enhance self-discipline and self-control, through a continuous search for improvement.\u00a0 Moreover, being a typically individual sport, it helps in knowing oneself, through an infinite work of introspection and confrontation with oneself. And let’s not forget that, in order to be valid, a match requires a greeting and a handshake, in practice fencing teaches us good manners. En garde! Pr\u00eats? Allez!<\/p>
